Probably not, at least according to research undertaken by the University College of Cork. It may seem harmless enough to lie about your weight and conveniently forgot about a couple of pounds however this may lead to problems according to the study. Both sexes are likely to bend the truth when it comes to height also.
Reporting of ones own weight can lead to inaccurate statistics when health workers look at the overall figures of obesity in the country. The report also found obese individuals to be more likely to under report their weight rather than those in the “over weight” category. Unsurprisingly men are more guilty than women when it comes to exaggerating height.
